Fashion Revolution Week 2017

Today's the first day of Fashion Revolution week 2017. And marks the 4th anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse. Which killed 1138 people and injured much more on 24th April 2013.

So today I picked up a delish cake from Adriano Zumbo here in Melbourne. Brewed a cup of coffee and sat down to read Fashion Revolutions first fanzine back to back.

Money Fashion Power is filled with awesome artwork. Informative facts and stories about the people who make our clothes. And it shines a light on the environmental impact the fashion industry has on our planet.

Such a great read and definitely recommend it if you want to be an informed consumer.

 Read it now here.

Although I'm not a fashion designer or obsessed with fashion (anymore). It's played a big part in where I am now.

My eco journey started when I uncovered the unglamorous side of the fashion industry. Way back in 2011, this discovery made me question all the things I buy. From clothes to food to art supplies and even electronics (the list went on and on...)

It made me realise how unsustainable my life was and how wasteful I was.

And it's one of the reasons why I make my creations with thrifted and vintage materials.
